Week 4: Build Your Network

It’s not enough to do good work – the right people have to know about it. Early in my career, I learned the painful and valuable lesson that it’s not enough to do good work to get ahead. Although I was doing outstanding work, the people who made the big decisions didn’t know me. This meant I didn’t get the recognition or the pay that I deserved. I’m not going to let that same mistake happen to you! Building your network is an absolutely necessary step for reaching the next level in your tech career. This week, we’re going to look at ways to identify the people you should be connecting with, how to connect with them, and ways to prepare to build these new connections.
